I know..I know… if I love them then who cares right?!!? But I just wanted to get some feedback of what people might say if they walked into a “Princess” themed wedding and these were the centerpieces. A couple other “princess” additions at my wedding are horse and carriage, castle cake topper, princess gown, flowergirl’s wearing princess dresses, and my color is Cinderella Blue. Thanks for any advice!!

I think you’ve got a hit on your hands! It’s a very creative & unique idea! I’m guessing that you are using the darker blue ribbon underneath? It’s a nice touch, helps add a bit of color & will compliment the table clothes nicely.
One idea…can you change the ribbon on the pillow? If you used some cinderella blue it would add some depth and dimension since everything on the table is white/clear.

It’s cute, but I think it is too many items for a centerpiece. But that is my opinion.
Congrats and good luck!

i would put lights on all for sides but it is still very nice!

I think it is perfect for a princess wedding. I love the glass slipper.
Only thing I could ever think of is add some color. But I don’t know your or the style you are going for.
But I love it!

It’s exactly what I’d expect to see at a princess-themed wedding—my only concern is that it’ll all just disappear if your tablecloths are white!
Unless you know the linens are going to be colorful, I’d try to add even the smallest touch of color to ensure all your hard work doesn’t get lost in the background… maybe sprinkle some colorful confetti across the pillow?

They’re cute, but I think you’ll find that once the tables are set, with all the extras that go on – wine bottles in the middle, etc., I’m afraid the centerpieces will be ‘lost’ amidst everything…

I think it’s cute. How big are the tables? I could use a little color though. Maybe Cinderella Blue candles instead of white ones. All in all I think it’s cute.

They are pretty and creative.I like them and wonder how they would look on mirrors. It is your wedding and is in good taste.

First I want to say I love the idea of the glass slipper and had NEVER thougt of anything like that.
I agree with everyone who says that it needs a little color. Perhaps you could find some satiny fabric that is your “Cinderella Blue” and lay a square of it under the pillow – turned so the corners don’t point the same direction as the pillow’s corners, you know? or even use a smaller square of it over the center of the pillow so it’s under the shoe? Another idea to add color is instead of the blue fabric, perhaps you could do something like fill the toe of the shoe with blue crystals or put some sort of blue flower or feather across the pillow.even a string of bluish pearls could add a little interest.
Another thing is that I think the horse and carriages take away from the elegance of the shoe on the pillow. They kinda look too plasticy, I might say save one for the cake table and maybe another for your table and other key points in the room.
Finally, the candles are pretty but might not be real safe like that. How about either putting them in taller cups or setting them up just a touch higher, like on a 3-inch pedestal? Just to keep them away from the pillow, cause I’ve seen that satiny fabric MELT just from being too hot from a nearby candle. And the polyfill inside is quick to melt too, if it doesn’t set fire entirely!
But all in all, what a clever idea! Just tweak it a little – I’m sure you’re still in the tweaking stage anyway, since you’re asking opinions
Congratulations!!

I rather say that if you like them that’s all that matters and if you are happy with them, then fine;
but to tell you the truth I don’t like them at all. I’m sorry, you asked! Again, feel free to disregard my opinion, they are simply not my taste.
Good luck

well seahawk fa and now pretty lady about to get married. i really like this idea but would like to add some color for these centerpieces. example. instead of the glass slipper being a little plain i would add a little red to where the bow should be and for the horse and carriaes i would have all the carriages a different color blue, orange, purple, silver or even a red one just to spruce up the pieces a little bit more and grab the attention they deserve take care and congrats

That fits your theme perfectly! Good job on being creative, it looks great!

I have to agree with Batcattj, skip the carriages and stick with just the pillow and shoe. There’s too much going on with them included. The white pillow will look good on the blue linens, but I think I’d find a way to add some color and make the shoe stand out a bit more. Would you consider a blue velvet pillow, preferably a dark blue? If I remember the video I think the shoe was carried and presented on a blue velvet pillow. It would also add to the regalness of the whole ‘princess’ theme.
If you truly want something around the pillow, look in to having a floral garland (real or silk) circling the pillow and maybe you could tuck your candle lights in to it or have a string of white lights twisted in to the garland itself.

its perfect!! i love it… it will go well
September 28th, 2009 at 7:08 am
Does your fiance know this is the theme??
It’s like something a 7 year old would want…
September 28th, 2009 at 1:54 pm
very cute. (eventhough i think a whole princess theme is a little childish.. the centerpieces are very nice). however: as a tip. be careful of those open flames. with that pillow and the strings, I would opt for a votive holder *(shape and height of a shotglass almost) with a tealight so the flame does not extend past the glass. i had 4 tealights around my centerpieces on each table but put them in the votive holders.. you can get them in bulk at like michael’s or ac moore
September 28th, 2009 at 8:25 pm
Looks too symmetrical and tacky. Like pieces of childish plastic toys. Sorry. The candles look completely out of place.
If I was having this theme, I would have a fairy or princess standing in the middle of the table, with a wand and some kind of sign saying ‘Wishing you a Happily Ever After’……..
September 28th, 2009 at 10:14 pm
Right who cares???but since you asked. It takes up too much space on the table & it’s corny
…a Princess is elegant, classy & less is better…

Is your groom ok with this theme? It appears REALLY girlie to me
September 29th, 2009 at 8:03 am
It’s a very cute idea. Did you ever think of taller candles, Piller like?
I’m concerned with the low tea light type and the pillow being larger then the candle it might catch fire.
It is a bit crowed but if your having tables that seat 12-14 then I think it’s a good size.
What about a mirror instead of the pillow? I’m not to crazy about the pillow.
Great job being creative!
September 29th, 2009 at 8:16 am
I think it’s really cute! I would maybe put a pink rose across the pillow with the shoe, just to add a flower and a color accent. Very cute though!
September 29th, 2009 at 12:19 pm
I think that looks really neat…question though what size are your tables? I wouldn’t want the centerpieces crowding the table but really I love your idea!!
September 29th, 2009 at 6:51 pm
I am not into the themed weddings but I think those are adorable! It seems a little crowded though unless, are they doubling as favors also?
Or are you going to be saddled with 40 carriages afterward? hehe
EDIT
The one thing I just though of, are you having them on white table clothes? That might look a little odd with the white pillow and crystal. You might consider a little overlay.

You know I dont like them as centerpiece maybe your ring bearer can place the ring inside the shoe. However, here is an idea if your kind of iffy about the centerpieces.
I always loved big centerpieces but this doesnt have to be expensive.
You may buy tall vases like this one on oriental trading…http://www.orientaltrading.com/applicati…
Then add a couple of White Roses or a bunch of baby breaths(The big bunch of them are very in this season) like this…http://images.search.yahoo.com/images/vi…
But then your wonder glass slipper LOL!
Can be hung like if it were dangling from the centerpiece.
I have a picture of this on my mind and I am like how cuters.
I love the carriages you can add a blue tulle (You mayb uy it in oriental trading) and make it like blue snow or frost around the centerpiece as if the carriages were driving on them. No candles!
September 30th, 2009 at 5:44 am
Very nice! Simple but elegant. And fits perfectly with your theme. Congratulations.
September 30th, 2009 at 8:43 am
I like flowers better. Use it for the ring bearer instead. Too many seperate pieces too.
September 30th, 2009 at 8:59 am
i dont really like them
September 30th, 2009 at 11:01 am
I love your theme & the centerpieces! I think they will be very pretty! If you are having a large, high-ceilinged ballroom, though, you might consider finding a stand or tall vase to set some of these on. Usually with a large room I recommend two styles of centerpieces-one tall, one short, to give the room some interest & depth. So, you wouldn’t have to change the details of the piece; you could just maybe get some clear cylinder vases (even florists have them to rent for about $10 ea) for about half your number of tables, and put the pillows on top. The candles & carriages, leave at the base of the vase.
