Lalli, editor of Modern Bride , and Dahl, a regular contributor to the magazine, have teamed up to write a comprehensive guide to planning a wedding. They have geared their book to couples in the 1990s who may have much more diverse backgrounds and lifestyles than couples had decades ago. “Contemporary Solutions” sections help the young couple deal with divorced parents, second marriages, a long-distance wedding, and different religious, cultural, or socioeconomic backgrounds. Research is based upon advice from clergy, wedding consultants, and couples themselves. As a result, many of the standard charts, checklists, and questions to ask are more up to date than those found in other etiquette books.
